KABUL: The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, met with Pakistan’s Special Envoy for Afghanistan, Mohammad Sadiq Khan, here in Kabul on Tuesday, the ministry said in a statement.
In the meeting, the two sides discussed various important issues including strengthening bilateral relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan, and raising the level of trade, and transit cooperation, as well as addressing people’s problems on both sides of the imaginary line, said the statement.
“The government of Afghanistan is committed to having positive relations with Pakistan and we may make good use of the existing commonalities between the two nations in the political, economic, commercial and transit areas,” said Minister Muttaqi.
Minister Muttaqi further said that the trade between the two countries could only grow if the communication between the peoples is easy and there is trust and coordination between the governments. The Pakistan special representative called the existing security in Afghanistan as beneficial for Pakistan and the region, adding that the purpose of his visit was to strengthen relations between the two countries in the political, economic, commercial and transit areas and to create facilities.
