KABUL: The provincial director of Information and Culture, Mawlana Nasrullah Malikzada, in an interview with Radio Omid, said on Wednesday that construction work on the Parande power dam worth 6.7 million U.S. dollars has been completed, and it will be inaugurated soon.
He said in a meeting with the representative of the contractor company, the governor of Panjshir, Mohammad Afgha Hakim, discussed the inauguration and its experimental operations.
“The dam will not only provide electricity to the people, but it will also play an important role in the growth of manufacturing industries and the prosperity of Panjshir’s industrial towns,” Malikzada quoted the governor as saying.
The dam is located in the Parande Valley of Bazarak, the capital of the province, and will generate 4 megawatts of electricity and address the power needs of producing factories and hundreds of families in the province.
