KABUL: The Ministry of Water and Energy said in a statement on Tuesday that a development project worth over 11.6 million Afghanis begins in Kandahar province.
According to the statement,
Funded by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the project includes the construction of a dam, gabion wall, and irrigation canal in the Manduzai area of the Maiwand district of Kandahar province.
The project aims to provide facilities for the residents of the Maiwand district and to prevent the wastage of agricultural water, said the statement, adding that the project will be completed within five months.
The implementation of development projects for water management is a priority for the Islamic Emirate.
