Turkish President Erdoğan visits Pakistan

KABUL: Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the President of Turkey, on an official trip, arrived in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, Turkish and Pakistani media reported on Wednesday evening.

The purpose of this visit is to strengthen cooperation between Turkey and Islamabad.

The seventh meeting of the High Council for Strategic Cooperation, co-chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Erdoğan, is scheduled to take place during this visit.

Upon his arrival, President Erdoğan was warmly welcomed by Pakistani leaders, with the Prime Minister and President of Pakistan greeting him at the airport.

In addition to the council meeting, discussions between Erdoğan and Pakistani officials, including the President and Prime Minister, have also been planned for this visit.
