Restoration of historical and archaeological sites MoIC’s priority, says Mawlavi Jamal

KABUL: Mawlavi Qudratullah Jamal, the Deputy Minister for Finance, Administration, and Tourism of the Ministry of Information and Culture, stated that the restoration of historical and archaeological sites is a priority for the ministry.

According to a statement from the ministry on Saturday, he made the remarks during his visit to Baghlan province while inspecting the shrine of the great scholar, Imam Qutaibah bin Saeed Baghlani (may Allah have mercy on him).

He noted that some cultural, historical, and archaeological sites in the province are facing the threat of destruction and the ministry is working to allocate funds for the restoration of historical and archaeological sites.

He reaffirmed the Islamic Emirate’s commitment to protecting the historical and archaeological heritage of each province, considering its historical significance.

The Ministry of Information and Culture has previously stated that the protection of the country’s cultural heritage and values is also the responsibility of international organizations active in the cultural sector.
