Islamic and National Army distributes aid to flood-affected families in Balkh province

KABUL: The Islamic National Army distributed humanitarian aids to dozens of flood-affected families in Balkh province, the Ministry of National Defense said in a statement on Sunday.

According to the statement, the aid was provided by the personnel of the 209th Army Corps of the Afghan National Army to families impacted by flooding in the Shulgara district of Balkh province.

The assistance included food and non-food items, such as blankets and tents, said the statement.

Also, personnel of the 1st Battalion of the 3rd Brigade of the 209th Army Corps ensured the safety of people and their property during the flooding in the affected areas.

It is noteworthy that last week, several provinces in the northern and northeastern regions of the country experienced heavy rainfall and subsequent flooding.
