KABUL: Yousaf Afridi, president of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, says traders in the province have suffered losses of around $2.5 billion following the closure of crossings and the suspension of trade with Afghanistan.
Speaking at a press conference in Landi Kotal, Afridi said the losses include $1.644 billion in exports and around $817 million in imports.
He stressed that the continued closure of trade routes between Afghanistan and Pakistan has negatively affected traders and economic activity on both sides.
The remarks come as the suspension of trade between Kabul and Islamabad has also caused significant losses for Pakistani businesses and traders.
