China’s first aid shipment for Afghan refugees arrives in Kabul

KABUL: The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations said in a statement that the first shipment of China’s aid for Afghan refugees has been delivered to the Ministry of Refugees in Kabul.

Chinese ambassador to Kabul, Zhao Xing, speaking in a ceremony held to hand over the aid said:” Afghans have been affected in various sectors over the past years due to wars and natural disasters”.

He added that his country, as a good neighbor to Afghanistan, has handed over the first part of its aid to the ministry, worth 40 million Chinese yuan, which includes small and large vehicles, tents, and blankets, to the Ministry of Refugees Affairs.

Meanwhile, Khalil-ur-Rahman Haqqani, the acting Minister of Refugees and Repatriations, said that China has always cooperated with Afghans in difficult circumstances.

According to the statement, the aids include 80 small and large vehicles, including Hilux, ambulances, water tankers, cargo trucks, 6,000 tents base, and 5,100 blankets.

The acting Minister of Refugees Affairs said that these aids will be used to address the problems of returned Afghan refugees.
