KABUL: The opposition forces are known as Hayat Tahrir al-Sham، after a series of attacks have successfully taken control of the city of Aleppo, Syria, on Friday, media reported.
Some social media images show that the Mujahidin of Tahrir al-Sham now controls the police headquarters and provincial government offices in Aleppo.
One of the images depicts dozens of prisoners being freed from the Aleppo prison by members of Tahrir al-Sham.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that Russian and Syrian warplanes have conducted over 20 airstrikes against the group in Aleppo and Idlib, but details regarding casualties and damage from the recent unrest in Syria have not yet been released.
Government officials in Syria, including President Bashar al-Assad, have not commented on the latest developments in the country.
