KABUL: Qatar’s Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, during a meeting with the leader of Syria’s new government, said that Qatar will provide 200 megawatts of electricity to Syria.
During a press conference with Abu Ahmad Jolani, Al Thani stated that this amount of electricity would be increased over time.
Qatari PM emphasized that a new chapter of friendship has been opened with Damascus.
This announcement comes as Qatar reopens its embassy in Syria, approximately 13 years after the collapse of the Assad regime.
