KABUL: As a result of the Ukraine drone attack on Russia, operations of several airports in the country have been suspended, Russian state news agency TASS reported today.
The Russian aviation watchdog announced that, after the drone strikes, flights at Astrakhan Airport and four other airports in Kazan, Nizhnekamsk, Saratov, and Ulyanovsk have been halted.
Igor Babushkin, the commander of the Astrakhan region, confirmed that energy and fuel facilities in the area were targeted in the Ukrainian attacks.
So far, there has been no official report of casualties from the strikes.
Russian media described the attack as significant, stating it targeted the country’s oil refinery.
This comes just two days after Russian forces conducted a large-scale missile and drone attack on Ukraine.
