Verbal dispute between U.S. and Ukrainian Presidents; Trump claims Zelensky not ready for peace

KABUL: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky engaged in a verbal dispute with President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance at the White House after being targeted by their remarks on Friday night.

According to video clips that went viral on social media, Trump accused Zelensky of being responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands in Ukraine and a looming global war.

Vance added that Zelensky had not expressed gratitude to the U.S. for its efforts to end the conflict in his country.

In response, Zelensky remarked that he was invited to the White House only to be disrespected.

The verbal clash between the senior officials of the U.S. and Ukraine has sparked widespread reactions.

Following the incident, Trump, on his social media platform (Truth Social), accused Zelensky of not being prepared to seek peace with Russia.

Zelensky was expected to sign a deal regarding Ukraine’s rare earth mining in exchange for U.S. military aid during this visit, but the agreement was not finalized after the confrontation.
