45 anniversary of Soviet Red Army’s Invasion of Afghanistan; Islamic Emirate urges next generation to stand against aggression and invasion

KABUL: The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan condemned (Jadi 6th) event, the forty-fifth anniversary of the Soviet Red Army’s invasion of Afghanistan.

The office of the Islamic Emirate spokesman Mawlavi Zabihullah Mujahid in a statement today (Jadi 6th) coinciding with [December 26, 2024], expressed pride in the jihad and sacrifices of Afghans against the former invading Soviet forces.

“The Islamic Emirate urges the next generation to always follow the path of Islam, religion, and homeland and to stand against any form of invasion and oppression. The former Soviet invasion posed threats to everything, including the religion, freedom, prosperity, and social security of the Afghan people,” said the statement.

The Islamic Emirate stated: “As a result of sacrifices, migrations, martyrdoms, and the hardships of jihad, Afghans, with the help of Allah Almighty, finally reached a day, after nine years, when the proud Red Army was defeated and fled Afghanistan in disgrace”.

The event proved that the people of Afghanistan are devout, value their religion and independence, and are willing to sacrifice their lives for their defense.

It is noteworthy that the forces of the former Soviet Union invaded the country on January 6, 1979, and occupied Afghanistan.
