KABUL: Ahmad al-Sharaa, the President of Syria, met with his American counterpart, Donald Trump, on the sidelines of the 80th United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The state news agency SANA announced today, that President al-Sharaa met with President Trump during a reception hosted by the U.S. leader at the UN Assembly.
Details of the discussions between the U.S. and Syrian leaders have not yet been disclosed.
This comes in the context of President al-Sharaa condemning Israeli attacks on Syria during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly.
