KABUL: Syria’s Minister of Tourism, Mazen Al-Salhi, has signed investment agreements worth $1.5 billion to support tourism development in the country.
According to the Syrian state news agency, these agreements were made through direct contracts and Memorandums of Understanding.
They encompass the expansion of existing facilities, construction of hotels and restaurants, establishment of recreational cities, and the restoration of historical sites.
This comes on the heels of Syria having signed 12 investment agreements worth $14 billion in August, which included infrastructure, transportation, and real estate projects.
All of the initiatives aim to revive the economy, which has been severely impacted by years of conflict.
