KABUL: Iran’s ambassadors to France, Germany, and the UK have been summoned back to Tehran, media reported.
The ISNA news agency reported today, that the ambassadors were called for consultations following the failure of a resolution to prevent the reinstatement of UN sanctions against Iran.
This resolution, proposed by China and Russia, aimed to suspend UN sanctions for six months.
ISNA noted that the summoning of ambassadors was a response to the “irresponsible actions” of the three European countries in misusing the dispute resolution mechanism of the JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) to reinstate previously lifted UN Security Council resolutions.
According to the recent decision by the UN Security Council, all UN sanctions related to Iran’s nuclear program are set to be imposed today.
