KABUL: A series of attacks on a train in Britain has resulted in at least nine individuals being seriously injured, Reuters reported.
The attack took place in the city of Cambridge, in eastern Britain, on a train traveling from Doncaster in the north toward King’s Cross in London.
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer described the attack as a “horrific and concerning event.”
Witnesses reported that police arrested two male suspects, one of whom was armed with a large knife and was stopped with a Taser.
Chris Casey, chief of British Transport Police, stated, “We are conducting an urgent investigation to determine what happened, and it may take time before we can confirm further details. At this early stage, it is not appropriate to speculate on the motives behind this incident.”
No further details have been provided regarding the identities of the victims or the attackers.
In recent years, incidents of armed attacks using both firearms and bladed weapons have increased in Western countries.
