KABUL: The Attorney General of Delaware, USA, has arrested a young Pakistani student who was armed and had attempted to attack the police.
CBS News reported on Tuesday night, that the individual identified as 25-year-old Luqman Khan was apprehended in a vehicle stop in Newcastle, Delaware, late at night, with a gun, additional magazines, and a notebook containing a map of the state university police station where he studies.
In the notebook, Khan had also written methods for using the weapon. Evidence suggests he had made plans to attack the police at the University of Delaware police station.
Julian Merry, the Attorney General of Delaware, stated that the notebook mentioned the name of a university police officer and included a sketch of the building with its entrances and exits, labeled “UD Police Station.”
The Pakistani citizen, who wrote about the topic of “martyrdom” in his notebook, reportedly stated during investigations after his arrest that becoming a martyr is one of the greatest deeds one can achieve.
Following his arrest, police also recovered a semi-automatic weapon from Khan’s home.
This incident comes amid rising concerns in the U.S. regarding the occurrence of armed attacks.
