$140 million fine on X platform; Elon Musk calls for dissolution of European Union

KABUL: Elon Musk, owner of SpaceX, Tesla, and the X platform, has called for the dissolution of the European Union.
According to Reuters early today, Musk’s call for the dissolution of the EU came after the bloc imposed a $140 million fine on the platform for what it described as a “deceptive blue-check system, insufficient transparency in advertising records, and refusal to grant access to public data for researchers.”
In response, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau harshly criticized the EU’s actions, labeling them as contradictory to the principles of the transatlantic partnership between the U.S. and the EU.
He stated, “When these countries put on NATO hats, they insist that transatlantic cooperation is the cornerstone of our shared security. But when they don EU hats, they pursue agendas that are often directly against U.S. interests and security… This dissonance cannot continue.”
Previously, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and other political figures have also labeled the EU’s fine on the X platform as “censorship.”
