KABUL: U.S. President Donald Trump has granted permission for the sale of NVIDIA’s advanced H200 artificial intelligence chips to China.
Trump announced this decision on his social media platform, Truth Social, stating that he informed Chinese President Xi Jinping about the decision, who reportedly gave a “positive response.”
Under the plan, these chips will only be provided to Chinese buyers who are approved by the U.S. government.
Trump mentioned that the Department of Commerce is finalizing the details of the plan and that a similar policy will be implemented for other American technology manufacturers like Intel and AMD.
This comes amid ongoing technological competition between the two countries.
