KABUL: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has met once again with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, representatives of U.S. President Donald Trump, in Berlin, The New York Times reported Sunday night.
The focus of the discussion was Trump’s plan to end the war in Ukraine.
Before traveling to Berlin, Zelensky stated that Kyiv is willing to forgo NATO membership in exchange for valid Western security guarantees.
NATO membership has been a contentious issue between Kyiv and Moscow concerning the terms for concluding the war.
However, the Ukrainian president emphasized that his country will not cede any territory to Russia.
Details of the recent discussions between Zelensky and Trump’s representatives in Berlin have not been disclosed. Meanwhile, U.S. efforts to broker an agreement between Ukraine and Russia to conclude the war continue.
