Nearly 3,000 Afghan migrants expelled from Pakistan in one day

KABUL: A total of 2,821 Afghan migrants have been expelled from Pakistan and returned to Afghanistan.

The High Commission for Addressing Refugees Issues said in a statement today that the expelled migrants entered Afghanistan through the Torkham crossing in Nangarhar province, Spin Boldak in Kandahar province, and Bahramcha in Helmand province.

According to the report, 1,610 individuals returned via the Torkham crossing, 830 through Spin Boldak, and 381 through Bahramcha.

The commission provided updates on its efforts to address the issues faced by returning migrants.

This comes amid reports that hundreds of Afghan migrant families are being detained by Pakistani authorities and expelled back to Afghanistan daily.
