KABUL: Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov stated that allies have provided nearly $5 billion in financial support for Ukraine’s weapons production for 2025 and plan to continue this process into 2026.
Following an online meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, Umerov noted that partners have also purchased weapons for Ukraine at a similar cost in the United States.
Umerov highlighted that Germany plans to provide approximately €11.5 billion in military aid next year, while the UK has raised £600 million this year from various sources to support Ukraine’s air defense.
The remarks come at a time when efforts to end the conflict in Washington are accelerating. Negotiating teams from both sides have conducted several rounds of talks in Berlin this week, and U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that the possibility of an agreement seems closer than ever.
