Putin Warns: If peace talks fail, Russia will “Forcefully” seize more Ukrainian territory

KABUL: Russian President Vladimir Putin has recently issued a warning about the consequences of failed peace talks regarding Ukraine.

Reuters reported on Wednesday, President Putin stated that if Kyiv and European politicians, whom he referred to as “young pigs,” do not engage in substantive dialogue regarding U.S. proposals for Ukraine, Moscow will seize more land on the battlefield using “force.”

He made the remarks during the annual meeting of Russia’s Defense Ministry. Putin asserted that if the opposing side and their foreign backers refuse to enter serious negotiations, Russia will reclaim its historical territories through military means.

The Kremlin leader also warned that he would achieve his goals in Ukraine either through diplomacy or force.

This comes as the U.S. is pursuing peace talks on two separate tracks: one with Russia and another with Ukrainian leaders and the European Union.

Reports suggest that Kyiv has accepted the proposals put forth by Washington, with the exception of ceding any Ukrainian territory to Russia.
