KABUL: At least 15 people lost their lives when a passenger bus veered off the road and overturned in Indonesia, according to The Associated Press early today.
Budi Yono, the head of Indonesia’s search and rescue agency, stated that the accident occurred this morning on a highway between Jakarta, the capital, and the historic royal city of Yogyakarta.
He indicated that the bus driver lost control on a toll road, resulting in a collision with an obstacle before the vehicle overturned.
Yono mentioned that the bus was carrying 34 passengers. There have been no updates on the condition of the remaining 19 passengers.
Indonesia, located in Southeast Asia and composed of thousands of islands, is known as the most populous Muslim-majority country in the world.
