Deadly blast at wedding ceremony in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa leaves seven dead

KABUL: A man detonated explosives attached to his body during a wedding ceremony, in Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa resulting in the deaths of 7 people, including the commander of a peace committee, .

According to the Associated Press, local police reported that the attack occurred at the home of Noor Alam Mehsud, a government-affiliated peace committee commander and tribal leader, during the wedding festivities.

The injured have been transported to the hospital, where the condition of some is reported to be critical.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack; however, security sources indicate suspicion towards the Pakistani Taliban (TTP), who have carried out similar attacks in recent years.
