KABUL: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, held a phone call with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to discuss the escalating military tensions in the region.
Iranian media reported that Erdogan emphasized Turkey’s readiness to act as a facilitator between Iran and the U.S. to reduce tensions and address issues.
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Sayed Abbas Araghchi reiterated during his visit to Turkey that U.S. demands require consultations.
Araghchi mentioned that Iran is in discussions with Turkey amidst the dangerous challenges facing the region.
This comes as, following heightened tensions between Iran and the U.S., the New York Times reported, citing U.S. officials, that President Donald Trump has been presented with a wider array of military options against the Iranian government in recent days.
