KABUL: A meeting to unify the country’s export system was held with Nooruddin Azizi, the Minister of Industry and Commerce, in the chair.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce on Tuesday night, the meeting was attended by officials and representatives from 12 government ministries and NGOs.
According to the statement, Minister Nooruddin Azizi stated that the goal of unifying the export system is to streamline documentation processes and facilitate trade for Afghan merchants and exporters.
During the meeting, participants shared their technical views and opinions on unifying the export system and establishing a unified framework for it.
The statement also stated that it was decided that all agencies involved in processing export documents should collaborate with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to share their requirements to advance the work.
Representatives from various ministries—including Communications and Information Technology, Finance, Mines and Petroleum, Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, Information and Culture, Transport and Civil Aviation, as well as the Raisin Export, Fruits and Vegetables Export, the Chamber of Commerce and Investment, the Union of Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters, and the Handicraft Development Center—participated in the meeting.
Efforts to unify Afghanistan’s export system have intensified as exports to various countries have increased over the past four years, and this trend continues to expand.
