KABUL: Yaser Khan Yaser, a resident of Peshawar was the perpetrator of the deadly explosion that took place in Islamabad in a mosque yesterday, Pakistani media reported.
Pakistani media have reported the latest information regarding the perpetrator of the deadly explosion that took place yesterday in Islamabad, identifying him as “Yaser Khan Yaser,” a resident of Peshawar.
Express Tribune published a report early today, stating that Pakistani intelligence sources are investigating the connection between the bomber and ISIS due to his “Salafi” leanings.
According to intelligence sources, efforts are underway to identify the network behind this attack, including any facilitators, leaders, and potential foreign connections.
Meanwhile, Talal Chaudhry, a senior official from Pakistan’s Interior Ministry, has acknowledged during investigations that the attacker is not an Afghan citizen.
The explosion at a Shiite mosque in Islamabad resulted in the deaths of over 30 individuals and injured around 170 others, prompting widespread reactions.
The attack occurred just two days after 11 members of ISIS were reported killed near a police station in Peshawar.
