North Korea’s 9th Party Congress to showcase military and economic power

KABUL: North Korea’s state news agency, KCNA, has reported that the country will hold the 9th Congress of its Workers’ Party in late February in the capital, Pyongyang.
The report indicates that this Congress is considered a significant and crucial meeting for outlining the nation’s annual political strategy and setting future policy objectives.
According to KCNA, ahead of the Congress, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has visited several military and economic projects, including a cruise missile test center and large greenhouses, to showcase the government’s achievements and advancements in national policies.
