KABUL: Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, who recently returned from a trip to Washington, has stressed the need to completely dismantle Iran’s nuclear program in discussions between the two countries.
According to Gulf News, an English-language media outlet from the United Arab Emirates, Netanyahu made the remarks during a meeting in occupied Jerusalem on Monday, where he stated that any agreement between Tehran and Washington should include several elements, specifically mentioning that it should encompass not only Iran’s nuclear program but also its ballistic missiles.
He emphasized that the first step should involve the removal of 60% enriched uranium from Iran and the dismantling of all equipment necessary for uranium enrichment.
Netanyahu further noted that the third element should address the issue of ballistic missiles. It seems that one of Israel’s concerns following Iran’s nuclear program is the range of Tehran’s ballistic missiles, which had targeted locations deep within Israeli territory during the 12-day conflict between Tel Aviv and Tehran.
Netanyahu’s insistence on these demands comes shortly after he visited Washington and met with U.S. President Donald Trump.
