Iran, Russia, and China to launch joint military drills in the Strait of Hormuz

KABUL: Iran, Russia, and China are set to begin joint military exercises in the Strait of Hormuz, Russian officials said, amid rising tensions between Iran and the United States.
According to reports citing Nikolai Patrushev, a senior security adviser to Russian President Vladimir Putin, the drills aim to strengthen maritime security and expand military cooperation among the three countries.
While the exact start date of the exercises has not been announced, reports say that naval vessels from Russia, China, and Iran have already been deployed to the region.
Moscow’s announcement comes at a time of heightened strain in Iran–U.S. relations, with American warships reportedly positioned close to Iranian waters.
Tensions between Tehran and Washington have escalated further following recent deadly protests in Iran, with both sides issuing warnings of possible military action against one another.
