Imran Khan’s health raises concern, family distrusts state hospitals

ISLAMABAD: The family of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed distrust in state-run hospitals and doctors affiliated with state institutions, raising concerns over the transparency of his treatment.

Khan’s sister, Alima Khan, told reporters that although the family had proposed their own doctors, they were not allowed to oversee his care. She said discussions about transferring Khan to the hospital have been ongoing for several days, and earlier promises to release a report on his health contained incorrect information and lacked a clear treatment plan.

Alima Khan questioned why details of Khan’s care are being withheld if proper treatment is being administered, urging his supporters to advocate for transparent and adequate medical attention.

Separately, the Pakistan Human Rights Commission has also expressed concern about Khan’s condition. His lawyer said that Khan’s right eye is facing a serious risk of blindness.
