KARACHI: At least six people were killed and 11 others injured after a gas balloon exploded inside a house in the Soldier Bazaar area of Karachi, local authorities said.
Pakistani media, citing officials, reported that rescue operations were launched at the scene shortly after the blast and the injured were shifted to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.
Gas explosions and related accidents have previously caused significant casualties and property damage in Sindh province, prompting repeated calls for stricter safety measures and improved enforcement of building and gas storage regulations.
