TEHRAN: International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi held a phone conversation with Iran’s Foreign Minister Dr. Sayed Abbas Araghchi, with both sides emphasizing the importance of constructive engagement and dialogue to advance negotiations and reach a lasting understanding over Iran’s nuclear program.
Iran’s state-run ISNA news agency reported on Sunday that Grossi and Araghchi discussed recent developments related to the ongoing indirect talks between Tehran and Washington.
The report did not provide further details about the substance of their conversation.
According to ISNA, the two officials underscored the need to pursue diplomatic channels to move the negotiation process forward.
The call comes amid heightened tensions between Iran and the United States over Tehran’s nuclear activities, with rhetoric escalating in recent weeks and concerns growing about the risk of military confrontation.
