Israel confirms pre-emptive missile strikes on Iran

KABUL: The Ministry of Defense of Israel has confirmed that it carried out pre-emptive missile strikes against targets inside Iran.

According to Reuters, citing Israel’s Defense Ministry, the strikes were conducted on Saturday.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stated: “The government launched a preemptive attack against Iran in order to neutralize threats against the State of Israel.”

Earlier, Iranian media reported hearing multiple powerful explosions in Tehran and other parts of the country.

The development comes amid heightened tensions surrounding nuclear negotiations between the United States and Iran.

Iranian military officials had previously warned that any military action against the country would be met with a strong response.
