KABUL: Following confirmation of missile strikes by Israel Katz, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Washington has initiated a major combat operation against Iran.
In a video message published Saturday on his X account, Trump confirmed the start of the operation and said that the United States would destroy Iran’s naval forces and missile capabilities.
Trump urged Iranian citizens to remain inside their homes, saying that “the hour of Iran’s freedom” would arrive within the coming hours.
He also called on the Iranian people to prepare to take control of their country’s future, describing the moment as a generational opportunity.
The developments suggest that the United States and Israel have jointly launched a large-scale military campaign against Iran.
Meanwhile, explosions have been reported in several Iranian cities, with thick smoke seen rising from multiple locations. Casualty figures and the full extent of the damage remain unclear.
