KABUL: Israeli media report that Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for launching rockets toward northern Israel for the first time in more than a year and a half.
According to The Times of Israel, Hezbollah has now entered the ongoing conflict involving Iran, Israel, and the United States.
In a statement, Hezbollah cited the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in a U.S.-Israeli strike, saying it had joined the war with Israel to avenge his death.
The group said its missile attack targeted a missile defense facility in the Israeli city of Haifa. There have been no immediate reports of casualties or damage resulting from the strike.
This marks the first time since November 2024, following a ceasefire with Israel, that Hezbollah has carried out a rocket attack on Israeli territory.
