Iran destroys $2 billion worth of U.S. military equipment in four days, report

KABUL: Iran’s armed forces have reportedly destroyed an estimated $2 billion worth of U.S. military equipment over the past four days, according to data cited by Anadolu Agency.

The report, published Wednesday, states that the most significant loss was damage to the U.S. AN/FPS-132 radar system stationed at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, valued at approximately $1.1 billion. Qatari authorities have reportedly confirmed that the radar system was damaged following an Iranian missile strike.

Additional reported losses include the downing of three F-15 fighter jets worth $282 million in Kuwait and the destruction of two communications terminals and several buildings at the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet base in Bahrain.

The report also claims that the AN/TPY-2 radar component of the THAAD anti-ballistic missile system, deployed in the industrial city of Al Ruwais in the United Arab Emirates, was destroyed. The damaged radar unit is estimated to be worth $500 million.

Since Saturday, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has reportedly targeted dozens of U.S.-related sites across the Middle East with ballistic missiles and drones.
