IEA condemns Pakistani airstrikes, says attacks ‘will not go unanswered’

KABUL: The spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mawlavi Zabihullah Mujahid, has strongly condemned the Pakistani military regime’s strikes, warning that such actions “will not go unanswered.”

In a statement posted on his account on X, Mujahid called the attacks as a “brutal aggression” carried out during the final days of the holy month of Ramadan and ahead of the Eid al-Fitr holiday.

According to the statement, Pakistan’s military carried out airstrikes overnight in several areas, including Kabul, Kandahar, and the Paktia and Paktika Provinces.

Mujahid said some civilian homes were hit in the strikes, resulting in casualties among women and children. He added that in other locations, the attacks targeted empty desert areas and uninhabited land.

Tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan have risen in recent days following cross-border military actions and accusations from both sides.
