U.S. delegation arrives in Islamabad; Pakistan FM holds call with Iran’s Araghchi

KABUL: A U.S. delegation has arrived in Islamabad to prepare for a new round of talks between Iran and the United States, according to reports by Iranian state media citing Al Arabiya.
Meanwhile, Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, held a telephone call with Dr. Sayed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, emphasizing the importance of continued dialogue and engagement, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The two sides agreed to remain in close contact and also discussed arranging a phone call between Iran’s president and Pakistan’s prime minister later in the day.
Separately, the New York Post reported, citing Islamabad police, that heightened security measures and traffic diversions have been implemented due to the arrival of foreign delegations. Authorities announced that parts of the Red Zone would be fully closed to traffic, urging citizens to use alternative routes.
The developments come as uncertainty remains over the next round of Tehran–Washington talks, with Iranian officials saying no final agreement has yet been reached on holding the talks.
