KABUL: Dr. Sayed Abbas Araghchi, Foreign Minister of Iran, says Tehran welcomes Moscow’s support for diplomacy following high-level talks in Russia.
In a statement shared on Tuesday, Araghchi said Iran values its engagement with Russia at the highest level, especially as the region faces “major transformations.”
He described recent developments as evidence of the strength and depth of the strategic partnership between the two countries, adding that Tehran appreciates Moscow’s solidarity as ties continue to grow.
Araghchi’s remarks came after meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during his regional tour.
According to reports, Putin emphasized the importance of continued dialogue between Iran and the United States to resolve disputes and avoid a return to conflict, adding that Russia is ready to mediate between the two sides.
