Russia ready to support Iran, says Putin in meeting with Araghchi

KABUL: Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, has expressed readiness to expand cooperation with Iran in support of regional peace and stability.
During a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Dr. Sayed Abbas Araghchi in Moscow, Putin praised the Iranian people’s efforts to defend their independence and sovereignty.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Putin assured Araghchi of Moscow’s willingness to provide all forms of cooperation and emphasized that Russia would take all possible steps to promote stability and peace in the region.
“We will do everything on our part that benefits you and all the people of the region, so that peace is achieved as soon as possible,” Putin said.
He also asked the Iranian delegation to convey his greetings and best wishes to Mojtaba Khamenei, Iran’s Supreme Leader.
Araghchi’s visit to Moscow comes as part of his ongoing regional diplomatic tour.
