Wakhan Corridor nears completion as construction progress surges

KABUL: The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, said in a statement today that construction of the Wakhan Corridor project is advancing steadily, with Phase One 60% complete and Phase Two reaching 74%.

According to official data, both phases are expected to be completed by the end of the current solar year (1405).

Phase one starts with 71.13 kilometers, length from the Boroghil Border to Bozai Gumbaz, with a cost of 143 million Afghanis.

Phase Two covers 50.49 kilometers, extending from Bozai Gumbaz to the China border, and is being built at a cost of 180 million Afghanis.

The Wakhan Corridor, passing through the Pamir Mountains in Badakhshan province, is a strategic route aimed at connecting Afghanistan to China by land, enhancing regional trade and connectivity.
