U.S. and Israel reportedly preparing possible strike on Iran as early as next week

KABUL: The United States and Israel are conducting extensive preparations for a potential military strike against Iran, with an attack possibly taking place as early as next week, The New York Times reported.

According to the report, Washington and Tel Aviv are continuing high-level assessments amid escalating tensions, with multiple military and strategic options under consideration aimed at containing Iran’s nuclear program.

Sources cited by the newspaper said that both U.S. and Israeli officials remain deeply concerned that, without a political agreement to de-escalate the crisis, the situation could enter a new and more intense phase of conflict in the region.

The report comes as Donald Trump, following his return from Beijing to Washington, stated that he had briefed Chinese President Xi Jinping on Iran’s nuclear issue during recent discussions.
