KABUL: An Afghan-Uzbek business relations conference and B2B meeting opened in Kabul on Wednesday, with officials from both countries emphasizing the need to expand practical economic cooperation and investment.
Speaking at the event, Nooruddin Azizi, Minister of Industry and Commerce said relations between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan had entered a new phase focused on economic and technical cooperation.
Minister Azizi stressed that cooperation between the two countries “should not remain limited to talks” but must produce tangible economic outcomes. He also urged investors not to miss what he described as a valuable investment opportunity in Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, Nazimjon Khalmuradov said ties between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan were steadily expanding and noted that Uzbek investors were prepared to invest in Afghanistan’s wool, cotton, and leather sectors.
Khalmuradov added that joint production and processing of agricultural and industrial products in both countries could help create employment opportunities for nearly four million people.
The conference comes as Kabul and Tashkent continue efforts to strengthen trade, industrial cooperation, and regional economic connectivity.
