KABUL: A powerful explosion was reported in the Bahregan area of Iran’s Bushehr Province, near Kharg Island.
The naval forces of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated that the blast occurred during an operation to dispose of unexploded ordnance and munitions left over from recent military activities, adding that the incident does not pose any security threat.
Bahregan is located in one of Bushehr Province’s major oil-producing regions and lies about 60 kilometers from the strategically important Kharg Island, a key hub for Iran’s oil exports.
Meanwhile, Israeli officials announced that their forces have carried out 150 airstrikes across Lebanon over the past two days.
Separately, Pakistan’s Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, has traveled to Tehran amid ongoing tensions involving Iran and the Gulf region. According to Iranian media reports, he held meetings with Iran’s Foreign Minister, Dr. Sayed Abbas Araghchi, as well as several other Iranian officials.
