KABUL: U.S. President Donald Trump has said he held a “very good” phone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and expects that Israel and Iran will refrain from attacking each other for at least one week.
Speaking to reporters, Trump said his recent contacts with Netanyahu were aimed at reducing tensions in the region and preventing further escalation of the conflict.
He added that both sides are expected to pause military actions temporarily to allow space for diplomatic efforts to move forward.
The remarks come amid renewed clashes and rising tensions between Israel and Iran in recent days.
