KABUL: U.S. President Donald Trump has warned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Israel could “stand alone against Iran” if the current conflict expands further.
Trump said Israel informed the United States only shortly before launching its attacks against Iran and that he had been assured at the time that the operation would remain limited in scope.
He added that representatives from several Middle Eastern countries had urged him to use his influence with Israel to prevent the crisis from escalating.
Trump also stated that Iranian representatives had contacted U.S. officials and conveyed a message that Tehran would be prepared to halt its military actions if Israel stopped its attacks.
The remarks come amid growing tensions between Iran and Israel, with concerns increasing over the possibility of broader regional instability.
