KABUL: At least 24 people have lost their lives, and dozens more have been injured amid anti-government protests and violent clashes in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, according to reports.
The demonstrations began in opposition to the allocation of 12 reserved seats in the region’s parliamentary elections and have continued for the past two weeks
Police said four officers were killed, 97 others were injured, and more than 500 people were arrested during the unrest.
Authorities said security forces are working to restore order, but tensions remain high and protests are continuing across the region.
